The Valencian Community has experienced another tropical night, where minimum temperatures have slightly decreased compared to the previous day but have remained very high. The lowest temperature was recorded in Benidorm (Alicante) at 27.2 degrees, according to data from the Valencian Meteorology Association (Avamet). The nighttime heat persisted in much of the region, with values not dropping below 25 degrees in numerous towns, making rest difficult and consolidating a tropical night episode in mid-June.
In the province of Alicante, in addition to Benidorm's 27.2 degrees, thermometers registered 26.2 degrees in Calpe and 25.4 degrees in both the Alicante capital and Benicàssim (Castellón). This confirms a very warm atmosphere in coastal areas, where the sea's influence limits the nighttime temperature drop. In L’Alfàs del Pi (Alicante), the minimum was 25.3 degrees, while in Orihuela (Alicante) the mercury stayed at 25.1 degrees. In Benissa (Alicante), the minimum temperature was 25 degrees.
The other provincial capitals also recorded high minimums: 25.8 degrees in Castellón de la Plana and 24.8 degrees in the city of València. These figures align with the pattern of tropical nights, when the thermometer does not drop below 20 degrees. These temperatures imply poor nighttime ventilation and a heat-laden atmosphere, reducing the usual nighttime thermal relief and prolonging the stuffy sensation, especially in urban areas and on the coast.
The forecast for this Wednesday indicates clear skies in the Valencian Community, according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet). This scenario favors high solar radiation during the day and maintains a stable and dry atmosphere over the region. Minimum temperatures are expected to remain without significant changes, with warm nights anticipated again. Maximum temperatures, however, will experience a slight decrease, potentially moderating the heat somewhat during the central hours of the day. The wind will be light and variable in the early and late hours, tending towards an easterly component at midday, bringing sea breezes that will offer limited mitigation of the thermal sensation on the coast.
