The Jayan cinema in Xàbia was completely full for the premiere of the documentary The Pilgrim's Path, a production by the Sakya Foundation of Pedreguer that explores a spiritual journey through India and Nepal.

The film, directed by Francisco Cauterucci, narrates the spiritual and physical journey of Lama Rinchen Gyaltsen and four of his disciples through the most significant Buddhist sites. This audiovisual immerses the viewer in a tour of temples, monasteries, and daily life along the banks of the Ganges.
The documentary captures moments of profound transcendence, such as the process by which the four companions decide to become Buddhist monks. It also reflects the appointment of Lama Rinchen Gyaltsen as Khenpo, a rank equivalent to a doctor in Buddhist philosophy, which he assumed with the characteristic humility of this tradition.

"Jayan cinema is a community gathering space and a tool for us to question ourselves and recognize ourselves in the stories of others."

Elena Català · Head of Jayan cinema and head of Mental Health services in Dénia
After the screening, a discussion was held with the protagonists and the cinema managers, Elena and Elisa Català Ortuño. During the event, Lama Rinchen presented Elena Català with a thangka or sacred cloth of the Medicine Buddha, as a gesture of recognition for healthcare professionals.
Elena Català highlighted the importance of Jayan cinema as a meeting place and thanked the recent collaboration of the Sakya Foundation with the Mental Health unit in Dénia, where they held a meditation session for caregiver self-care. The documentary's chronicle concludes at the Sakya Foundation's headquarters in Pedreguer, a center that has established itself as a spiritual reference in the Marina Alta since its inauguration in 2006.
