The events began when the CIMACC 091 dispatch center received a report of a robbery at an establishment in Dénia. Upon arrival, officers found a vehicle rammed into the shop's security gate and several individuals loading tobacco into another car.
During the intervention, the suspects rammed the police patrol car to escape. During the getaway, one of the suspects pointed a firearm at the officers. Although the police vehicle was disabled, officers managed to arrest one of the perpetrators inside the premises.
The vehicle used by the fugitives was later located near Xeresa, after driving in the wrong direction on the highway and colliding with another car. The occupants had abandoned the vehicle, where hundreds of packs of tobacco and documentation key to the investigation were found.
The assailants managed to steal nearly 1,200 packs of tobacco, valued at over 7,500 euros, in addition to causing significant material damage to the shop. The detainee is charged with several crimes, including robbery with force, document forgery, and membership in a criminal group.
