Thousands of people gathered in the streets of Dénia for a massive Trobada d'Escoles en Valencià, marked by a strong protest atmosphere ahead of the imminent general education strike that began on Monday, May 11.

The city of Dénia was the scene of a large celebration of public education in Valencian, bringing together thousands of members of the educational community from the region. The event, which had to be postponed from Saturday to Sunday due to rain, enjoyed splendid sunshine and filled streets such as Marqués de Campo, Plaça del Consell, Diana, La Glorieta, and María Hervás with life.
This edition of the Trobada had a particularly protest-oriented character. Although blue shirts, this year's official color, were predominant, many green shirts, symbolizing the defense of education, were also seen. The proximity of the general education strike, which began on Monday, May 11, gave the slogan «Tenim història, som futur» (We have history, we are the future) a deeper meaning, reflecting the struggle for the future of Valencian education.

"The oft-repeated slogan 'Tenim història, som futur' had more meaning than ever on this occasion. That future will be played out starting this week in an unprecedented general strike across the entire educational fabric of the Valencian Community."

The day began in Plaça del Consell with the Mostra de la Canció, featuring performances by Ramonets and the Muixeranga Segarieta, which raised its human towers against the backdrop of the Castle walls. Subsequently, a massive parade wound through the streets with music and dance, including the participation of the inclusive batucada Monbloc, the Colla de Bandolers de Pedreguer batucada, the Colla del Portitxol, the Banda de Música de Parcent, and the Agrupació Artística Musical de Dénia.
The parade was led by students carrying banners with the message «They are the future». Political representatives from left-wing parties also participated, including the mayor of Dénia, the deputy mayor, the education councilor, and the mayors of Pedreguer, El Ràfol, and Jesús Pobre, as well as a regional deputy. The day culminated with workshops and animation activities in La Glorieta del País Valencià, solidifying Dénia as a place of celebration despite challenging times.
