The third edition of the SONE Festival will take place in Benissa from July 2nd to 5th, maintaining its essence of bringing live music outside of usual cultural venues. The aim is to turn corners of the municipality into small open-air stages, as initiated in 2024 to promote live street music and bring it to new spaces.
The festival uses the cardinal points from the center of Benissa (South, West, North, and East) as a reference to create a musical journey that invites discovery of the municipality. This year, styles such as jazz, swing, soul, flamenco, pop, string music, and Latin rhythms are combined over four different nights.
The program will kick off on Thursday, July 2nd, at 10:00 PM, at the Pinada de Selva (South point), with Babalú Band and their show “Route 66,” inspired by the great American jazz, swing, and soul bands. The Valencian group will perform classics by artists like Frank Sinatra or Aretha Franklin, along with covers.
On Friday, July 3rd, at the same time, Plaça del Convent Franciscà (West point) will host “Flamenco y otros sones.” Irene Carrión and Óscar Zoilo, with the collaboration of Carmen Coy and Diego Pérez, will unite the essence of flamenco with a solid academic background, combining flamenco guitar, cello, and voice.
On Saturday, July 4th, at 10:30 PM, Placeta Vella, near the Monument al Riberer (North point), will be the stage for the Cuarteto de Cuerda Valencia and their show “4Pop.es.” With over fifteen years of experience, the quartet fuses classical music with pop, rock, and electronic genres, and has performed in international cycles like “Candlelight”.
The festival's closing will take place on Sunday, July 5th, at 8:00 PM, in Plaça de l’Església Vella (East point). The Salsa Crew, an international Latin music ensemble, will deliver an energetic and festive live performance featuring salsa hits, designed for a participatory atmosphere open to all audiences.
With this third edition, the SONE Festival consolidates its commitment to decentralizing culture and revitalizing different areas of Benissa, turning each concert into a unique experience for both residents and visitors, and demonstrating that live music can be a way to explore and discover the municipality.
