The non-award of the Blue Flag to La Fustera beach this year is due to specific values that did not meet the excellence levels required by the distinction, without implying health problems or limitations in the use of the beach. Official controls show that the water quality is good.

To regain the award and improve environmental parameters, the council has intensified actions in the area. Measures include the renovation of the Wastewater Pumping Station (E.B.A.R.) and increased supervision at the treatment plant (E.D.A.R.), with controls carried out three to four times a week.

Additionally, active sludge is being incorporated into the biological reactor weekly, and the three restaurants located on the beach have installed new grease separators suitable for their activity.

In parallel, the Local Police have increased surveillance in the vicinity of La Fustera to prevent the presence of motorhomes and uncontrolled discharges. These actions aim to protect the coastline and ensure a safe and sustainable environment for users.

This year, the municipality celebrates obtaining a new Blue Flag at Cala Advocat, a fact that highlights the continuous work in enhancing the value of Benissa's coast.
