The Marina Alta region is under an orange alert for this Thursday, May 7, due to the forecast of strong storms, hail, and wind gusts, as reported by Aemet.

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has upgraded the alert level from yellow to orange for the Marina Alta region. This decision is based on the possibility of very intense rainfall that could pose a «significant danger» to the population.
Forecasts indicate that up to 40 mm of rain could be recorded in just one hour, and up to 80 mm over a twelve-hour period. Additionally, the storms are expected to be accompanied by hail and «very strong wind gusts,» which could complicate the situation in areas near promenades and coastal stretches.
The warning will be in effect from 7:00 AM until 8:59 PM this Thursday. Therefore, extreme caution is advised throughout the day. The La Safor region is in a similar situation, while in neighboring regions, the alert level remains yellow.
