This unique spot, fed by a spring of pure water, has become one of the most visited areas during the hot months. Its crystal-clear, cold waters flow through a small natural canyon, shaped by the river's constant action on the rocks, inviting visitors to swim and rest in a completely wild environment.
The landscape surrounding the Fuente de Marzo is a masterpiece of nature. Smooth grey rock walls, polished by time and past floods, frame a series of natural pools, tranquil backwaters, and sections where water depth varies, creating areas suitable for both swimming and simply observing the surroundings. In more open areas, picnic tables have been set up, allowing visitors to relax to the sound of water and riverside vegetation, enjoying a calm atmosphere rarely found elsewhere in the Valencian interior.
The location of the Fuente de Marzo sparks curiosity, as it lies on a border area between the municipalities of Anna and Enguera. Although the main access is from Anna, following the CV-590, this has led many visitors to associate the place with both towns, reinforcing its character as a shared natural enclave within La Canal de Navarrés.
To preserve this valuable environment and manage the high influx of visitors, especially during summer, management measures have been implemented. Access from the Enguera road is prohibited, and entry must be from Anna, following the signs towards the Carrascal area. Additionally, during the high season, a regulated parking area with limited capacity and an associated fee (5 euros) operates from 09:00 to 21:00 to control overcrowding. Tickets can be purchased at lacanal.aforofy.es. Alternatively, visitors can park in more distant areas and complete the journey on foot.
Historically, the Fuente de Marzo is part of a region with a deep tradition linked to water usage, featuring remnants of ancient channels and structures related to milling, wool work, and agriculture. Near the site are also the ruins of an old dye factory, a testament to the area's industrial past. The Venta de Marzo, an old country house converted into rural accommodation, completes the heritage of this enclave.
The beauty and fragility of the Fuente de Marzo demand civic behavior from all visitors. It is recommended to avoid loud music, not leave any waste, and respect the rest of others and nature. Caring for places like this is essential to ensure their conservation for future generations.
Anna, the municipality to which this site primarily belongs, offers a wide variety of natural attractions, such as the Albufera de Anna, the Gorgo de la Escalera, or the Ruta de las Tres Cascadas, in addition to its valuable historical heritage, notably the Palace of the Counts of Cervellón. Anna thus consolidates itself as a complete destination for nature and history lovers in the interior of the province of Valencia.
