The Department of Education of Paiporta City Council has opened registration for the 2026 Summer School. This educational, recreational, and family reconciliation program will become the first 100% inclusive municipal school this year. Registrations can be made through the website until places are filled.
The Councilor for Education, Olga Sandrós, has highlighted the importance of this initiative to ensure that all children in Paiporta can enjoy the summer school, catering to diversity and adapting resources to the needs of each family. Sandrós explained that the school will have specialized monitors and the necessary support for the participation of children with specific educational support needs, including minors enrolled in Special Education centers.
Sandrós added: “We want to create real, inclusive, and accessible spaces for coexistence, where everyone shares experiences, learns, and socializes together, because everyone is a child of Paiporta.” The school will take place at CEIP Jaume I and CEIP l’Horta from June 23 to July 31, and is aimed at minors born between 2014 and 2023. The general hours will be from 09:00 to 14:00, with the possibility of early morning extension from 07:30 and optional lunch service until 15:00 or 17:00.
The City Council will subsidize 50% of the activity cost. To process the subsidy, families must keep the payment receipt. The school will offer a total of 500 places, which will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis once the process is completed and payment is made. Families can register for weekly and bi-weekly sessions.
Under the title ‘Tavari's Journey’, the school will offer an immersive experience combining water games, sports gymkhanas, creative workshops, and foam parties with a thematic tour of different continents and cultures. Each week will be dedicated to a different region, including activities such as origami workshops, Japanese calligraphy, Roman games, experiences inspired by ancient Egypt, Australian boomerang workshops, or activities related to Antarctica. The theme aims to foster respect for diversity, inclusion, and cooperation.
The organization has indicated that families can communicate any specific needs, intolerances, or special requirements during the registration process to ensure a safe and inclusive experience. The mayor of Paiporta, Vicent Ciscar, stated that this summer school reflects the model of town they want to build, “a more inclusive, accessible Paiporta committed to equal opportunities,” and highlighted the City Council's work to facilitate family reconciliation with quality public services.
