The regional minister of Agriculture, Water, Livestock and Fisheries visited the works and framed this intervention within the autonomous program for channeling and conditioning riverbeds, endowed with 46 million euros.
This plan includes 39 projects in five regions and 28 municipalities of the Valencian Community. Of these, 17 actions have already been completed, and the rest are currently underway.

The action in Picassent is part of the measures promoted to improve the hydraulic safety of municipalities and reduce risks in the face of intense rainfall and floods.

The head of Agriculture, Water, Livestock and Fisheries has also criticized the lack of investment by the central government in hydraulic infrastructure.
“"The Sánchez Government is the government of paralysis. It has not invested in works for channeling and conditioning rivers and ravines, leaving numerous projects paralyzed or unstarted."
In this regard, the minister cited the monitoring report of the Júcar Hydrographic Confederation's Hydrological Plan and assured that, in terms of flood protection,
“"only 3.9% of the planned investments have been executed."
He lamented that these actions should be completed by 2027 and that,
“"as of today, almost halfway through 2026, not even 4% of the execution has been reached."
