Psychologist Cristina, one of the professionals in charge, explained that the resource aims to support young people through various personal and emotional situations. "The goal is for any young person to feel heard and accompanied, regardless of their situation," she stated, highlighting that consultations address topics such as anxiety, academic or work-related issues, bullying situations, body image insecurities, among other concerns.
The mayor of Alfafar, Juan Ramón Adsuara, emphasized the importance of promoting initiatives for the youth. "Mental health is a priority, and from the City Council, we want our young people to know they are not alone and have free, professional resources available," he affirmed.
The service is designed for both ongoing support and one-off guidance, with no session limit. "It depends on each person's needs and the process they require," explained the psychologist. Cristina also stressed the importance of breaking the stigma around mental health, stating that "taking the step to seek therapy is an act of bravery".
Juan Ramón Adsuara highlighted the need to create "safe spaces where young people can express themselves freely and receive emotional support confidentially and closely." The service guarantees privacy and confidentiality, with professionals adhering to the ethical code and offering "a judgment-free space," Cristina added.
Appointments can be easily requested via WhatsApp, phone call, or email. The service is available on Monday afternoons and Thursday mornings at the Espai Jove, and on Wednesday afternoons at the Punt Jove Orba. The Alfafar City Council reiterates its commitment to youth emotional well-being through accessible and free support tools.
