Valencian activists Álvaro Pérez Guardiola and Emilia Nácher, participants of the Global Sumud Flotilla, finally arrived at Manises airport this morning, welcomed by family and friends following their detention by Israeli forces.

Valencian activists participating in the Global Sumud Flotilla, engineer Álvaro Pérez Guardiola from Alzira and nurse Emilia Nácher, were detained by Israeli military forces and have finally arrived at Manises airport this morning. Their arrival followed a long journey that took them from Istanbul, through Bilbao and Madrid, to Valencia, where they landed around 1 AM.
Incidents at Bilbao airport, where the Basque police clashed with some of the arriving activists and made four arrests, caused moments of distress among the families and friends of the Valencian activists. However, Álvaro and Emilia were not involved in this altercation.
The activists had previously reported from Istanbul that they suffered physical and psychological mistreatment during their detention by Israel, although they sustained no injuries.
Family and friends awaited them at Manises airport, leading to emotional reunions after days of uncertainty since Israel intercepted the boats carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza mid-week, detaining flotilla activists, including 44 Spaniards and three Valencians.
