The law firm Soriano i Piqueras has announced the addition of Emilio José Belencoso Rodrigo, the current Mayor of Almàssera and president of the Metropolitan Entity for Waste Treatment (EMTRE). This new incorporation aims to strengthen the firm's public law, administrative penal law, and economic law departments, which are central to its specialization.
Belencoso, a trained lawyer, has developed extensive activity linked to public administration and institutional management through his roles. According to the firm's communication, he is already working alongside Víctor Soriano i Piqueras on procedures of "special public and institutional relevance," including leading the popular accusation's legal team in the Puig case and the Ribó case. These cases highlight the firm's specialization in proceedings that combine criminal law, public administration, and oversight of public officials' actions.
With this addition, Soriano i Piqueras seeks to enrich its team with a profile that combines legal knowledge, professional experience, and direct insight into the functioning of public institutions. The firm emphasizes that Belencoso's career "brings differential value in matters at the intersection of politics and law, particularly in public law and administrative penal proceedings with high institutional exposure."
Belencoso holds a Law degree from the Catholic University of Valencia and a Master's in Business Legal Advice from the Foundation for Financial Studies of Valencia. He is also a specialist in civil law. Professionally, he began his career at Salvatierra Abogados and has been a self-employed lawyer since 2022. His institutional career includes serving as a councilor in the Almàssera City Council since 2011 and as Mayor since 2023, in addition to presiding over EMTRE, being part of the Governing Board of EMSHI, and serving as a member of the Health Council for the Valencia-Clínico-Malvarrosa Department.
Soriano i Piqueras highlights that Belencoso's incorporation "reinforces the firm's capacity to address complex matters from a legal, institutional, and strategic perspective," providing direct knowledge of Valencian administration and political reality.
