The Ministry of Health has awarded the architecture and engineering service for the drafting of the project and the direction of the works for the construction of the new health center in Meliana for an amount exceeding 256,000 euros. This step is crucial for advancing the launch of the future center, which is integrated into the Valencia Clínico-Malvarrosa health department.
The execution period set for the project drafting is nine months. Once approved, the tender process will be initiated to carry out the construction works, which will have an estimated duration of 24 months.
The new health center will be built on a plot of over 1,100 square meters ceded by the local council, located on Garrigosa street. The built area will exceed 2,000 square meters, thus increasing the care capacity compared to the current center.
The Ministry of Health will allocate more than 4.8 million euros to this infrastructure, which will be modern and feature a comprehensive range of services and technological equipment to meet the population's needs.
The operational launch of this center will signify an improvement in healthcare for the more than 11,000 Meliana citizens assigned to it, by increasing healthcare resources, a necessity due to the area's population growth.
The service portfolio will include a Reception Area, Family Medicine with seven medical consultations, Pediatrics with two consultations, an Extraction and Treatment room, Women's Care and Midwifery Area, Social Work, Administrative Area, and Rehabilitation.
The Ministry is making an "important investment effort" to enhance Primary Care, through organizational improvements and the incorporation of technological equipment such as ultrasound and fundus cameras, which increase professionals' diagnostic capacity.
