The municipality of Massamagrell organized an environmental awareness day last Saturday to combat 'basuraleza', featuring notable citizen participation and collaboration from the Sant Joan Scout Group.

The Massamagrell City Council participated last Saturday in a new environmental awareness action within the LIBERA Project, an initiative aimed at combating 'basuraleza' (litter in natural environments) and promoting the conservation of natural spaces.
The activity consisted of a waste collection day on agricultural paths within the municipal area and saw significant citizen participation. Residents of Massamagrell joined the initiative alongside members of the Sant Joan Scout Group, actively contributing to the cleaning and improvement of the municipality's natural environment.
During the day, various types of abandoned waste were collected from rural areas, helping to preserve these spaces and highlighting the importance of collective involvement in environmental care.

"The response from the citizens has been magnificent and shows that there is growing awareness about the importance of caring for our environment. We want to especially thank the participation of the Sant Joan Scout Group and all the residents who joined this initiative, because thanks to their commitment, we continue moving towards a cleaner, more sustainable, and environmentally respectful municipality."

Pep Galarza · Councilor for the Environment

"Actions like this reflect the commitment of our residents to the municipality and to the conservation of natural spaces. Caring for the environment is a shared responsibility."

Paco Gómez · Mayor of Massamagrell
The initiative was part of the activities promoted for World Environment Day and reinforces the municipal commitment to sustainability, environmental education, and the conservation of Massamagrell's natural spaces.
