The Department of Municipal Services, led by Manuel Pérez Menero, has driven this initiative to optimize public lighting energy consumption. The project involved replacing old lanterns with 24 units of the Fernandino model, equipped with high-efficiency LED technology. This solution maintains the area's classic aesthetic while incorporating modern LED lighting features.

The new streetlights feature a 4000K color temperature, providing clear, uniform illumination suitable for a public space like the plaza. This enhances visibility, safety, and visual comfort for residents and visitors, ensuring the area remains pleasant and secure after dark.

Through this renovation, the Burjassot council anticipates a lighting energy saving of over 50% and a 100% reduction in light pollution. The goal is to move towards a more efficient, sustainable, and environmentally friendly public lighting model, blending traditional design, landscape integration, and energy efficiency.

In the coming months, the improvements will extend to the remaining ornamental streetlights in the Old Town, which will also be replaced with LED lighting, substituting the current metal halide systems. Thus, Burjassot reinforces its commitment to the continuous improvement of its urban infrastructure.
