The University of Valencia and the Alzira City Council have announced the XXXII European Scientific Dissemination Award Estudi General, with a prize of 12,000 euros and a submission deadline of Tuesday, September 15.

This award, presented as part of the Ciutat d’Alzira Literary Awards and in collaboration with Edicions Bromera, aims to encourage the creation and dissemination of works that, using accessible language, bring scientific and technological advancements closer to the general public and pre-university students. The winning book will be co-published by Edicions Bromera and the University of Valencia within the ‘Sense Fronteres’ collection.
Essays on popular scientific and technological knowledge dissemination written in Valencian, Spanish, English, or French, between 250,000 and 300,000 characters in length, are eligible for this award. Additional materials must be original and free of rights. Previous winners are not eligible, nor are texts from final undergraduate projects, master's theses, or doctoral dissertations.
Submissions can preferably be made through the UV's Electronic Office or in paper format at the institution's General Registry (av. Blasco Ibáñez, 13, 46010, València). The jury will evaluate the works anonymously based on criteria such as scientific interest, creativity, clarity of exposition, and correct use of syntax and spelling.
This year's jury includes Carlos Javier López Olano (Vice-Rector for Communication, Participation, and Transparency, who will preside), Carolina Moreno (director of the ‘Sense Fronteres’ collection), José Nicanor Alonso and Miguel Ángel Mirás (winners of the previous edition), Mariam Tórtola, and Estrella Durá (researchers from the University of Valencia).
The award ceremony will take place on the evening of November 6, 2026, coinciding with the Ciutat d’Alzira Literary Awards gala. The event will be hosted by actress and comedian Maria Juan, with special collaboration from playwright Carles Alberola and musical performances by Faixa and Titana.
