The Valencia City Council will launch a special operation on the city's beaches this summer, which includes the distribution of identification bracelets to facilitate the location of minors and vulnerable individuals. The first batch will consist of 8,000 units and will be distributed at the Local Police outpost in Malva-rosa.
The initiative aims to provide greater peace of mind to families visiting the beaches and reduce response times in cases of loss or disorientation. The bracelets are water-resistant and include the responsible person's name and a contact phone number.
The bracelets can be collected at the outpost located at Carrer de Pavia 65, in the Malva-rosa area, as part of the Local Police's special operation. Additionally, they will be available at all health posts managed by the Red Cross, which collaborates in the city's beach services.
According to the Councilor for Beaches, Mónica Gil, the experience of the lifeguard staff allows for rapid action in cases of missing persons. The operation is activated immediately and works in coordination with the Local Police to locate the missing individual.
The Councilor for Security, Jesús Carbonell, highlighted that these bracelets are part of a set of preventive measures that also include other services aimed at the safety of bathers, describing them as a simple yet very effective tool for improving emergency response.
In addition to minors, the operation is also designed for the elderly and people with disabilities, aiming to extend protection to all vulnerable groups. According to the city council, the city's beaches receive thousands of visitors each summer, particularly in areas like Malva-rosa or Cabanyal, where occasional disorientation is more likely to occur.
