The award covers two of the three lots into which the municipal contract has been divided, with an expected duration of four years. The awarded service includes ten places per day for the territorial areas of the Municipal Social Services Centers of l'Olivereta, Patraix, Campanar, and Sant Marcel·lí, and another ten places per day for the zones of Quatre Carreres, Trafalgar, Malva-rosa, el Cabanyal, and Natzaret.
The total expenditure for the two awarded lots amounts to 960,301.50 euros. The Department of Social Services and the Elderly, headed by Marta Torrado, has presented this award as "an advance in the coverage of an essential resource for the elderly who require specialized day care, professional support, and assistance in their daily lives".
Among the objectives of this service are "maintaining personal autonomy, promoting remaining in the usual environment, and offering fundamental support to families and caregivers". The contract aims to "provide comprehensive and individualized care to elderly people in the city of Valencia who present functional limitations, different levels of dependency, or socio-health needs", the council detailed.
The planned services include social, health, and psychological care, occupational therapy, rehabilitation, restoration, personal hygiene, adapted transport, socio-cultural activities, podiatry, hairdressing, and family guidance. Lot 1, corresponding to Ciutat Vella, la Saïdia, Salvador Allende, and Benimaclet, was declared void as no offers were submitted. This circumstance "has not prevented the City Council from moving forward with the award of places corresponding to the other two zones included in the procedure", the local administration remarked.
The contracting has been promoted to "respond to existing demand and strengthen the network of care for dependent elderly people with equality, proximity, rationality, and agility". This resource "allows for improving the quality of life of users, preventing age-related deterioration, reducing the effects of aging-related pathologies, and supporting families who undertake caregiving tasks".
“"From the council, we will continue working so that the lot that has been declared void can be awarded as soon as possible."
