The Torrent City Council has approved the restoration project for l'Hort de Trénor, one of the city's most emblematic heritage sites, aiming to preserve its structure and historical value.
The Local Government Board of Torrent has given the green light to the initiative, which includes the rehabilitation of the country house and chapel located within the municipal park. This action is fundamental for consolidating and protecting the complex, built in the early 20th century by the Trénor family and currently municipal property.
L'Hort de Trénor, cataloged as a Site of Local Relevance and a historic garden of local interest, is an essential part of Torrent's cultural and landscape identity. The project addresses issues such as dampness, deterioration of roofs, and other constructive elements of the main buildings.
The intervention will cover an approximate area of 618 square meters within a plot of more than 21,800 square meters that makes up the park. The works will focus on the structural improvement of the property, repair of dampness, restoration of roofs, and recovery of original carpentry. Actions in the immediate surroundings and the replacement of affected garden elements will also be included to integrate the restored complex into the municipal park.
This action has the authorization of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and archaeological monitoring of the works, especially in the chapel, to guarantee the preservation of any existing historical elements. With a budget of 568,523.23 euros, the execution is planned for a period of six months. Following approval, the project has been notified to the General Directorate of Heritage, and the tender process for awarding the works is already being prepared.

"This is a very respectful intervention given the historical value of the complex. The objective is to consolidate the structure of the building, solve the problems detected over time, and recover the original elements that are part of its architectural identity."
The municipal park of l'Hort de Trénor is one of the most important green and heritage spaces in Torrent. Its historic garden and architectural complex serve as a meeting point for residents, families, and educational and cultural activities. With this intervention, the City Council reaffirms its commitment to protecting local heritage and improving public spaces linked to the city's identity.
