The rainfall, although brief, was heavy in several locations, accompanied by adverse phenomena such as hail and strong wind gusts. The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) reported that the storms are moving north, also affecting areas like Pedralba and the Serranía region.
Aemet maintains a yellow alert for the interior of Valencia until 10 PM this Sunday. The forecast includes stormy showers that could, sporadically, result in accumulations of up to 20 liters per square meter in one hour. The possibility of hail and strong wind gusts associated with these phenomena has also been warned.
The heavy rains have directly impacted road safety on the A-3 highway, particularly in the municipalities of Utiel, Caudete de las Fuentes, and the Contreras reservoir area. Aemet has urged drivers to exercise extreme caution in these zones.
As a consequence of the storms, 'mammatus' clouds, which are hanging protuberances on the underside of clouds, have formed along the coast of the province of Valencia, remnants of the intense meteorological activity inland.
