Valencia is becoming the nerve center for innovation and entrepreneurship with the celebration of Techstars Startup Weekend Valencia, taking place at Las Naves until Sunday. The initiative, driven by the global network Techstars, will gather more than one hundred participants with the goal of transforming innovative ideas into viable business projects within 54 hours.
The initiative is supported by the Valencia City Council, which aims to consolidate the city as one of Europe's leading technological and entrepreneurial hubs. The Councilor for Tourism, Innovation, and Investment Attraction, Paula Llobet, has highlighted the city's commitment to the entrepreneurial ecosystem and innovation as a driver of economic growth. "We are delighted to welcome Techstars Startup Weekend Valencia at Las Naves. Supporting initiatives like this is part of Valencia's commitment to strengthening our entrepreneurial ecosystem and innovation as a driver of economic growth. Our city believes in talent, entrepreneurial spirit, and technology as tools to build a more competitive, sustainable future full of opportunities," she stated.
Llobet emphasized that events like this contribute to generating new connections, attracting knowledge, and creating projects with growth potential, reinforcing Valencia's position as one of Europe's most dynamic innovation hubs. According to the Dealroom 2026 report, the Valencian startup ecosystem is already valued at 7.3 billion euros.
The Techstars Startup Weekend arrives at a favorable time for the Valencian innovative sector, further strengthened by major events such as the Valencia Digital Summit 2025, which generated 26 million euros in economic impact. The latter's report concludes that the summit brought together over 12,000 professionals from 120 countries and facilitated contacts for raising more than 560 million euros in funding for participating startups.
Over three intensive days, attendees will develop business models, create prototypes, and receive specialized mentoring from Techstars, a world-renowned organization in startup support. The program is open to students, professionals, developers, designers, and early-stage entrepreneurs, with no prior experience or business idea required.
The main organizer, Oki Alexander, pointed out that the objective is to "put Valencia on the map as one of Europe's leading startup hubs," leveraging "the energy, talent, and innovation capacity of a city prepared to build great projects with global impact." This edition is considered the beginning of a long-term relationship with the city.
Founded in 2006, Techstars has supported thousands of startups worldwide, contributing to the development of over 5,000 companies with a combined market capitalization exceeding 133.4 billion dollars.
