The 8th Marta Fernández de Castro race is taking place this Sunday in Valencia, causing traffic closures on the Alameda promenade and surrounding areas from early morning until noon.

The city of Valencia is preparing for the 8th edition of the Marta Fernández de Castro race, scheduled for this Sunday, the 24th. This sporting event will lead to significant traffic disruptions, particularly in the Penya-Roja and La Creu del Grau neighborhoods, affecting one of the busiest areas of the city.
The main race is scheduled between 9:00 AM and 10:15 AM. However, traffic closures will begin earlier, at 6:00 AM, to allow for the setup of the start and finish area located on the Alameda promenade. Specifically, the section between Plaça Europa and the Assut de l’Or bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic.
The timing of the closures will vary depending on the direction of traffic. Heading towards Saler, the closure will extend from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Conversely, heading towards the city center, the restriction will last until 12:00 PM. This difference is due to the holding of races for children under 14 in the finish area after the main event concludes.
The race route will pass through areas with significant traffic, such as the vicinity of Avenida de Francia, the Alameda, and the access points to the Assut de l’Or bridge. To facilitate mobility, one lane on Avenida de Francia will be designated for residual traffic coming from Luis García-Berlanga Martí street and Alfred Toran i Olmos street.
Organizers recommend that drivers check the scheduled times and plan their journeys in advance if they need to travel through this part of Valencia on Sunday morning to avoid inconvenience.
