Sant Joan leaves 40 arrested in Valencia for brawls, drugs, and weapon possession

The National Police deployed a special operation on Valencia's beaches during the Sant Joan night, resulting in 40 arrests and numerous identifications and reports.

During the afternoon and night of the Sant Joan eve, National Police officers reinforced security on Valencia's Cabanyal-Malvarrosa beaches with a special operation. The operation, which began at six in the afternoon on June 23rd and concluded this morning, resulted in the arrest of 40 individuals.
The primary objective of the operation was to ensure that citizens could enjoy the beach areas safely. In addition to the 40 arrests, 927 people were identified, and 225 reports were filed for various infractions, including drug possession, weapons, and other administrative irregularities.
Reasons for arrest included drug trafficking, public brawling, vehicle break-ins, and assaulting a police officer. Four individuals were detained for participating in a fight near a nightclub using dangerous objects. Another arrest was made for being caught in the act of stealing from inside a vehicle.
The operation's results in the province of Valencia also include actions in other towns. In Gandia, 215 people were identified, and 37 reports were issued for drug possession or consumption, along with one report for weapons. In Sagunto, 34 people were identified, and 2 reports were filed for drug possession or consumption.
In the city of Valencia, the operation involved members from various units of the Superior Police Headquarters of the Valencian Community, such as Citizen Security, Scientific Police, Judicial Police, Immigration and Borders, Intelligence, the Police Intervention Unit (U.I.P.), the motorcycle group of the Prevention and Reaction Unit, the Air Media Service, the Special Cavalry and Canine Guide Units, the Immediate Response Group to Crime (G.R.I.C.), and the Office for Complaints and Support for Women. Officers from the Operational Response Group (G.O.R.) and the Investigation Group of the Maritime District Police Station also participated.
