The distribution of the Generalitat Valenciana's 2026 budgets is not equitable among the twelve government departments. The Department of Health, led by Marciano Gómez, will once again be the one with the most funds, at 9.453 billion euros, 2.9% more than in 2025, representing 38.7% of the non-financial budget.
The Department of Education, Culture, and Universities ranks second with an increase of 450 million, rising from 7.299 to 7.749 billion, a 6.2% rise. These figures come amid tensions from the ongoing teachers' strike. The third major spending area is debt repayment, which will amount to 7.200 billion euros in maturities and interest.
Excluding financial expenses, the Department of Social Services, Family, and Childhood, recently established, would rank third with 2.731 billion, a 5.5% increase. Conversely, the Third Vice-Presidency and Department of Environment, Infrastructure, Territory, and Recovery will see its budget reduced by 7.3%, to 1.100 billion, mainly due to decreased investments from European funds. In fact, half of the departments are experiencing a reduction in their allocations.
Other departments facing cuts include the First Vice-Presidency (Housing, Employment, Youth, and Equality) with 4.2% less (679 million), and the Department of Industry, Tourism, Innovation, and Commerce, which falls by 8.5% (648 million). The Department of Justice, Transparency, and Participation, however, increases by 2.5% (612 million).
The Department of Economy, Finance, and Public Administration faces a significant cut of 31%, dropping from 781 to 536 million, although its non-financial portion increases by 7.6%. The Department of Agriculture will have 460 million. The Second Vice-Presidency and Department of Presidency falls by 1.4% to 251 million.
The Department of Emergencies receives the least budget, with 234 million, and faces the largest cut, 46% less than in 2025. However, its ordinary budget increases by 5.9%.
