The future candidate for Mayor of Valencia from Compromís, Mónica Oltra, has advocated for left-wing political projects based on alliances that 'overflow party labels' and 'short-termism'.

She indicated this during her speech to introduce her party's congressman Alberto Ibáñez at a press breakfast organized by Nueva Economía Fórum. Attendees included the regional coordinator of Podemos in the Valencian Community, María Teresa Pérez, and several Sumar group deputies such as Carlos Martín, Enrique Santiago (IU), Alda Recas, and Tesh Sidi (Más Madrid).
Oltra warned that the 'offensive of late capitalism' endangers the lives of 99 percent of the population, which can only be overcome with a great 'fraternal' alliance. 'In other words, there are no individual solutions, only collective solutions through social, political, and community organization (...) We are now also working on political projects, weaving alliances that overflow party labels and short-termism. Projects that center life, projects that center people,' she emphasized.

"If different forces are capable of having breakfast together, we will be capable of organizing ourselves outside."

Meanwhile, Ibáñez asserted that he has always had the support of the former Vice President of the Valencian Government with the Botànic coalition, even 'when she was in the cave,' referring to her judicial situation, and that he has always felt her 'kind and empathetic' hand. The congressman called for organizations not to lose their footing for the future, appealing to the need for unity.
For her part, Oltra explained that the Valencian Community has its own uniqueness and is not interpreted correctly, in her opinion, from the 'centrality' of Madrid. In this regard, she noted that in 2019 progressive governments were maintained in this territory and deployed a project that advocated for preserving public services against 'mercantilism'.
'We made it possible, and that is where we signed, if you allow me, I won't say our sentence, but rather some order that you know very well,' she exclaimed, referring to the decision of the Provincial Court of Valencia to order a trial against her for the alleged cover-up of sexual abuse of a minor by her ex-husband between 2016 and 2017.
Separately, the aspirant to be mayor of Valencia in the next municipal elections asked to imagine the effects of the 'dana' (cold drop) in October 2024 had it occurred in Madrid.
