Eight injured in Madrid accident involving VTC, car, and police patrol

Eight people were injured this Sunday in a spectacular accident in Madrid, where a VTC, a car, and a police patrol collided at the intersection of Alcalá and Miguel Yuste streets.

The incident occurred around 4:30 PM in the San Blas district. Samur-Civil Protection attended to and transported eight people to different hospitals: the car driver, the five occupants of the VTC, and two National Police officers.
The car driver is the most seriously injured, with a possible hip fracture. She had to be evacuated from the vehicle by the Madrid City Council firefighters and taken to La Paz hospital. An accompanying passenger did not require transport.
The VTC driver was taken to Ramón y Cajal hospital with a shoulder injury and bruises, not serious. The four occupants of this transport sustained minor injuries and were taken to La Princesa hospital.
The two officers from the National Police patrol were taken to Infanta Leonor hospital with minor bruises.
Madrid Municipal Police are investigating the accident, which occurred at a traffic light-controlled intersection.
