The Ministry of Transport is enhancing drainage on the A-7 between Picassent and Benifaió with works causing traffic disruptions on upcoming June weekends.

The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility is working to improve the flood and drainage conditions of the A-7 highway, specifically between kilometers 356.4 and 361, passing through the municipalities of Picassent and Benifaió. These actions involve modifications to its gradient, cross-section, and vehicle containment barriers in the median.
This project is part of broader reconstruction and repair efforts for damages caused by the dana (heavy storm) to the State Road Network in the province of Valencia, with a total investment of 18.6 million euros (VAT included).
The final phase of the works, focusing on road surface regularization, will cause traffic disruptions over the next few weekends in June to ensure safety. From Friday, June 5th at 9:00 PM to Sunday, June 7th at 3:00 PM, the right carriageway, towards Alicante, will be completely closed.
Subsequently, from Friday, June 12th at 9:00 PM to Sunday, June 14th at 3:00 PM, the left carriageway, towards Valencia, will be fully closed. Finally, between Friday, June 19th at 9:00 PM and Sunday, June 21st at 3:00 PM, a partial closure may occur depending on work progress.
During the closures, traffic will be diverted to the opposing carriageway, which will operate in both directions. This will affect access and exit points on the A-7. Towards Alicante, access from junctions 356 (Almussafes/Ford), 357 (Picassent), and 358 (Penitentiary Center), as well as exits 357 and 358, will be closed. Alternative routes will be provided via roads AP-7, CV-42, CV-43, and CV-50.
Towards Valencia, exits and entries at junctions 357 (Picassent) and 358 (Penitentiary Center) will be closed. Vehicles will need to continue to junction 356 (Almussafes/Ford) to perform a U-turn. Junction 361 will only have its entry towards Valencia closed, with an alternative route via roads CV-525 and CV-42.
