The candidacy of Laura Almudéver Campo has secured the majority of votes in the elections to renew the Governing Board of the Official College of Nursing of Valencia (COENV).
The candidacy led by Laura Almudéver Campo has obtained the majority confidence of the registered nurses in the province of Valencia in the elections held this Sunday to renew the Governing Board of the Official College of Nursing of Valencia (COENV). After the count of the cast ballots, Almudéver's candidacy reached 1,864 votes, compared to the 1,595 votes obtained by the candidacy led by José Vicente Carmona.
Furthermore, 6 null votes and 3 blank votes were registered. The candidacy of José Vicente Carmona has announced challenges and has submitted written complaints regarding the electoral process.
With this result, Laura Almudéver will continue to preside over the Official College of Nursing of Valencia for the next five years. Her team faces a new stage with the commitment to continue strengthening professional representation, promoting the scientific development of Nursing, and defending the interests of the approximately 18,500 registered nurses in the province.

The president-elect has expressed gratitude for the support received and acknowledged the work of both candidacies. "I want to sincerely thank the trust placed in our team, but also the work done by the other candidacy. Plurality strengthens our institution and, from today onwards, our objective must be to join forces to continue defending a profession that is essential for the healthcare system and for society," she stated.
The electoral day took place at the college headquarters on Polo y Peyrolón street in Valencia, with voting hours between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Votes cast by mail were also included in the count.
One of the main objectives of the new term will be to continue reinforcing the presence of Nursing in all care, teaching, research, and management areas, in addition to consolidating the services the College provides to its members.
"We will continue working so that the College is the home for all nurses in the province of Valencia. We will promote training, research, innovation, professional defense, and the social recognition that a profession constituting one of the fundamental pillars of the healthcare system deserves," she detailed.
The new Governing Board will maintain a policy of permanent dialogue with public administrations, universities, healthcare organizations, and other professional institutions to advance in the professional development of Valencian Nursing.
Furthermore, the College's commitment to institutional transparency, good governance, and continuous improvement of collegiate services has been reiterated, consolidating the strategic lines developed in recent years and opening new spaces for participation.
