The Provincial Court of Valencia has accepted the involvement of former President of the Generalitat Valenciana, Carlos Mazón, in the case investigating the management of the DANA on October 29, 2024, which caused 230 fatalities in the province.

As reported by the Superior Court of Justice of the Valencian Community (TSJCV), the Court upheld the appeal filed by Mazón's lawyer against the judge's initial decision to deny his participation in the proceedings.
The tribunal concludes that pending proceedings have been ordered that are still "capable of yielding results that could provide information that might lead to future incrimination" of the protected individual, given that Mazón is a deputy. Therefore, his participation in the case is admitted under Article 118 bis of the Lecrim to exercise his right to defense.
