The Local Government Board of València has approved the public employment offer for 2026, which includes 376 new positions, aiming to reduce temporary employment and rejuvenate the municipal staff.

The offer includes the creation of 376 positions, of which 256 will be open to public application, with the remainder primarily through internal promotion. These 256 positions represent the maximum allowed by the València City Council according to the replacement rate set in the General State Budgets.
Particular emphasis is placed on positions for emergency services, public safety, and social services. Specifically, 100 positions for Local Police officers, 30 positions for Firefighters, and 15 positions to strengthen municipal social services are planned.
Currently, the temporary employment rate for València City Council staff stands at around 24%. This public employment offer aims to reduce it to 8% of the total workforce, the maximum limit permitted by state legislation.
The process also seeks to rejuvenate the municipal workforce, which currently has an average age of 52 years. 64.21% of municipal staff are over 50, and it is projected that 1,081 people, equivalent to 20% of the workforce, will retire within the next ten years.
