In response to the situation arising from the public education teachers' strike in the Valencian Community, the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) has called for dialogue and understanding between the parties. The aim is to foster a solution that allows for the return of normalcy to the Valencian educational system.
Furthermore, the UPV conveys a message of reassurance to students and families. The university institution guarantees that it will provide all necessary organizational and material resources, in coordination with the competent educational authorities, to ensure the proper development of the PAU exams next week on its campuses.
In a statement, the Politècnica asserts that it is a priority to protect students' right to carry out their academic activities and face the university entrance exams in conditions of normalcy, stability, and confidence, especially at such decisive times for their academic and personal future.
Last Thursday, the Universitat de València (UV) also called for, in the third week of the indefinite educational strike, the establishment of commitments as soon as possible that allow for realistic progress on the issues concerning teachers, students, families, and ultimately, all citizens.
The unions STEPV, CCOO, and UGT, organizers of the indefinite teaching strike in non-university public education, reject the negotiation calendar proposed by the Conselleria d'Educació and demand its resumption this very weekend. This Friday, they will also submit the administration's documents and potential new contributions for consultation by the teaching staff.
The negotiation between the Conselleria and the unions to reach agreements that allow for the de-escalation of the strike remains open and will resume next week, with a reworked proposal from the administration and through sectoral tables that will address the various points claimed by the teachers.
