At 10:32 AM, the image of Our Lady of the Forsaken made its appearance, revealing the mantle it wore for the event. This is a special gift, whose light brown color corresponds to what is known as 'Terreta', the same one worn by the Fallera Mayor of València 2026, Carmen Prades, on the day of her exaltation with the official espolín.
The Fallera Mayor of València 2026 is the donor of this mantle, an initiative that she and her family had wanted to carry out for some time and which has materialized after her election. The mantle, made by Vives y Marí, features the same background dye and an allegorical drawing of the Virgen del Carmen.
This new mantle will become part of the patron saint's collection and will be used occasionally in events where the Peregrina participates, once it has been restored from any damage it may suffer during the transfer. The Fallera Mayor's devotion to the 'mareta' is well-known, and she often carries an image of Our Lady of the Forsaken at informal events.
The link between the Fallas and the Virgin's mantles is not new. The Virgin's trousseau includes, for example, a mantle from the children's Fallera Mayor of 1996, Lucía Andrés, and another from the Ribera-Convento Santa Clara falla, donated for its 50th anniversary.
