The Municipal Cooperation area of the València Provincial Council has suspended the processing of the Plan for Municipalities over 50,000 inhabitants, intended for València, Paterna, Torrent, Sagunt, and Gandia, due to the interruption of the 2026 budget negotiations.

According to explanations from the area led by the first vice-president, Natàlia Enguix, the conditions are not currently met to continue processing extraordinary aid that will amount to a disbursement of 10 million euros for the València Provincial Council.
Until it is clarified whether there will be new budgets, this Plan cannot be launched because it is part of the negotiation for the Council's accounts for this year. If there are no budgets, it is difficult for Municipal Cooperation to process the file for aid that, as recalled by Natàlia Enguix's department, is extraordinary and was not foreseen for 2026, therefore forming part of political negotiations that are currently suspended.
Sources from Ens Uneix, a government partner of the PP in the València Provincial Council, have stated that there are currently other priorities than distributing 10 million euros among the province's largest municipalities. They advocate for allocating an additional 5 million euros to the Commerce Voucher, bringing its total to 15 million for this year, and another 5 million to the Valencian Heritage Recovery Plan, which would have 15.5 million euros, allowing for the subsidization of projects that were left out due to lack of funds.
For them, it is more of a priority for Tuéjar to be able to recover the historic building of La Puesta or for Buñol to manage to save the Torre del Homenaje in time, to give two examples of projects that require the Council's support for execution.
