The festival, which took place over nine days across various cultural venues in the city, was marked by memory, territory, and a critical look at the present. The closing ceremony announced the winning titles in the different competitive sections.
In the Global Docs section, the award went to Runa Simi, directed by Augusto Zegarra, recognized for addressing the preservation of minority languages and identities through a deeply human and universal story, with careful visual aesthetics and humor. The jury highlighted its ability to confront individual struggles against large corporations.
The Panorama Award recognized Yrupé, by Candela Sotos, for a "rigorous research work" built from a poetic narrative blending botany, historical memory, and indigenous culture, expanding the narrative boundaries of documentary filmmaking.
In the Mirades section, dedicated to Valencian feature films, Calada, by Adán Aliaga and Beatriz Freire, received the main award for its "bold and unique vision" in portraying a traditional craft as a sensory experience. The jury also granted a special mention to El Blasco, by Nacho Sánchez, for its close and human portrait of neighborhood organization following the DANA catastrophe.
In the Fragments section, dedicated to documentary shorts, No als poalets, by Laura García Andreu, was honored as Best Valencian Short Film for transforming an everyday conflict into a reflection on contemporary political debates. The Best National Short Film was awarded to La luz que nos guía, by Cristina Rodríguez Paz, praised for its hypnotic cinematic language.
One of the novelties of this edition was the El Águila Award, presented to La Pietà, by Rafa Molés and Pepe Andreu, for their reflection on the loss of glaciers from an authorial perspective.
In the industry awards, 'Préstame tus ojos', by Natalia Grande, received the Kaleidoskopik Award. 'Un viento lúcido', by Luana Bovet and Pau Berga, was honored with the DocsMX Award and the DocsLab Fundación SGAE Award. 'Fang. La memòria perduda' received the RCE AWARD, while the Yolanda Barrasa Award went to 'La Re-ver-te', by Mar Navarro and Giovanna Ribes. Finally, 'El vuelo de Mar', by Sonia Bautista-Alarcón, won the bbo Award, and 'El món en una pilota', by Àlex Martínez, received the EFD Studios Award.
