A group of retired teachers has expressed their support for the education strike in the Valencian Community, warning that the public system is at a "critical moment" and denouncing the breach of constitutional commitments.

A manifesto released by retired teachers, affiliated with CCOO-PV, has conveyed their support for the mobilizations for public education in Valencia. According to the text, "we are at a critical moment in the Valencian public education system."
These retired teachers believe that the improvement of public services, particularly education, was a constitutional commitment that right-wing governments are rapidly failing to uphold, diverting resources to the private sector. They warn that the abandonment of these essential resources hinders the improvement of public education quality.
The manifesto also points out that the Valencian Government has failed to comply with the Supreme Court ruling prohibiting the funding of educational centers that segregate students by sex, as stipulated by the Lomloe law. Furthermore, they criticize the "lack of attention" from the Valencian Government, composed of PP and Vox, and their attempt to "belittle the linguistic model by modifying its regulations."

"We, who have been part of the struggles for democratic freedoms since the end of Francoism and participated in the 1988 general strike to demand labor improvements, consider that we are at a critical moment in the Valencian public education system and, therefore, we want to express our full support for the strike."
