The main objective of this initiative is to support proposals capable of generating new job opportunities, improving existing services, and contributing to population retention in the inland regions. As explained by the deputy responsible for Sustainable Territorial Development, Avelino Mascarell, "the fight against depopulation cannot be tackled solely by administrations," highlighting the fundamental role of associations and social entities in revitalizing municipalities.
“"With this call, we want to provide them with tools so they can continue developing projects that improve the quality of life for people living in the province's interior."
The grants will fund projects that directly address the demographic challenge, including innovative actions, training and awareness activities, proposals for modernizing productive sectors, or initiatives that leverage the economic and social potential of rural municipalities. Projects related to entrepreneurship, economic diversification, digitalization, competitiveness improvement, or the recovery of traditional sectors can be subsidized.
The financial allocation can cover up to 90% of project costs, with a maximum of €36,000 per beneficiary entity. Each entity may submit a single proposal with a minimum budget of €10,000. Previous editions have demonstrated the effectiveness of this aid in generating economic activity and improving the quality of life in rural areas, with projects such as support for entrepreneurs, development of new gastronomic products, or improving the employability of the elderly.
Mascarell emphasized that many of the supported initiatives "originate from entities deeply connected to their municipalities and have firsthand knowledge of the needs and opportunities of each territory." The goal, according to the deputy, is "to continue supporting useful projects with real impact and the capacity to generate new opportunities in our towns."
