The seventh edition of the event brought together 62 finalist teams from across the Valencian Community, with a prior participation of 243 educational centers, 502 teams, and 4,519 students. The province of Valencia received the most accolades, with 20 awards, followed by Castellón (9) and Alicante (6).
L'Horta Sud secured three awards and l'Horta Nord, two, positioning them among the regions with the most presence in the winners' list. The competition is divided into four categories (Dreamers, Makers, Coders, and Gamers) and three educational levels (juniors, cadets, and seniors).
Among the awarded centers from l'Horta, IES Vicent Andrés Estellés in Burjassot won first prize in the Makers Senior category for the project ‘BIOPLAS: Biology and Plastination at Estellés’, which adapts the plastination technique to the secondary school environment with teaching material created from 12 real hearts.
The Fundación Institución Colegio Domus in Godella received third prize in Dreamers Junior for ‘App Ecomundo y Los Econautas’, a programming project focused on the environment and sustainability, featuring interactive dynamics to raise awareness about ecology.
The Nuestra Señora del Socorro school in Benetússer won second prize in Dreamers Cadetes with ‘Con Fermi tras la DANA’, a project proposing a Restoration Priority Index based on damage and social utility after disasters, supported by neighborhood surveys.
IES Massanassa obtained third prize in Dreamers Cadetes with ‘Escucha tu aula’ (Listen to your classroom), an initiative to facilitate autonomous orientation for visually impaired students using posters with conventional text, braille, and NFC technology.
Finally, C. Ed. Sant Cristòfor Màrtir in Picassent was recognized with third prize in Coders Cadetes for ‘App Iaios’, an application designed to help people over 70 years old manage daily tasks, reducing the digital divide.
The president of the UPV Social Council, David Salvo, highlighted the effort, teamwork, creativity, and talent of the finalist teams, considering them fundamental pillars of an advanced and just society. The gala gathered nearly 1,000 people and is supported by FECYT and the Valencia City Council.
