The Valencian Community has received €96,000 from BBVA Futuro for three projects promoting employment inclusion for Roma women, autonomy for children with functional diversity, and ecological restoration in Fuente la Reina.

Since its launch in 2018, BBVA Futuro has allocated €597,000 to the Valencian Community to support social and environmental projects. In this new edition, proposals combining inclusion, social innovation, child health, and ecological restoration have been selected, with activities planned in Valencia, Paterna, Elche, and Fuente la Reina.
The Fundación Secretariado Gitano (Roma Secretariat Foundation) will receive €32,000 for the project “Conéctate al empleo: mujeres que avanzan” (Connect to Employment: Women Moving Forward), to be developed in Valencia and Paterna. This initiative aims to improve the employability of Roma women under 30 facing social exclusion through personalized pathways, training, active job searching, and support. The goal is to reduce social and gender inequalities and break the intergenerational cycle of poverty.
The Fundación para la Salud Infantil de la Comunitat Valenciana (Foundation for Child Health of the Valencian Community) also receives €32,000 for its project “Innovación para la autonomía personal de menores con diversidad funcional” (Innovation for the personal autonomy of minors with functional diversity), which will take place in Elche. This project focuses on early intervention and technological innovation for children aged zero to six with functional diversity and their families, incorporating 3D printing solutions to enhance their personal autonomy.
The third awarded project is “Brotes Verdes: Restauración Forestal y Empleo Verde en Fuente la Reina” (Green Shoots: Forest Restoration and Green Employment in Fuente la Reina), by the Fundación Desert Leaves, which will receive €32,000. The initiative will focus on restoring 6.64 hectares affected by the 2023 fire in the Alto Mijares region, by planting over 6,000 native trees, creating water retention structures, and training local youth to foster forest management micro-enterprises. It is estimated to directly benefit 250 people.
The BBVA Futuro solidarity call, in its eighth edition, has awarded 25 initiatives nationwide with a total donation of one million euros. Special attention was given to environmental projects, with 189 eligible candidacies received. The management company involved 250 volunteer evaluators to identify projects with the greatest social and environmental impact.
