The Castellón Provincial Council has invested over 1.18 million euros in Montanejos since the start of the legislative term, improving infrastructure and services.

The Castellón Provincial Council has reinforced its commitment to the development of Montanejos with an investment exceeding 1.18 million euros since the beginning of the legislative term. The president of the provincial institution, Marta Barrachina, visited the municipality to see the final results of a project funded through the Ceramic Urban Regeneration Competition and to announce new investments.
During the visit, the provincial leader highlighted the range of actions carried out in the town in l'Alt Millars to improve infrastructure and services. These include work on the irrigation ditch network, improvements to the access to the Fuente de los Baños (Fountain of Baths), and the renovation of its changing rooms. As she stated, these are “investments made with the aim of continuing to improve infrastructure, services, and all of this to enhance the quality of life for its residents”.
Marta Barrachina also announced the inclusion of a 160,000 euro agreement with the Montanejos Town Council in the 2027 provincial budget. This action will enable the construction of a new parking area with capacity for 60 vehicles, thus responding to the municipality's tourism growth.
The new investment adds to the economic effort made by the provincial institution to foster local development and improve services for both residents and visitors.
The visit also served to verify the outcome of the winning project of the seventh edition of the Ceramic Urban Regeneration Competition. The project, which involved an investment of 253,125 euros, has transformed the Era de la Alquería into a space for social and cultural coexistence. The project, developed by La Errería, has revitalized a degraded area, turning it into a versatile environment for neighborhood activities, popular events, and children's games, while respecting the identity of l'Alt Millars.
Ceramics plays a central role in the intervention, being present in both the paving and urban furniture elements, including benches and planters, integrating with the area's architectural heritage.
The president of the Provincial Council reiterated institutional support for the ceramic sector, defining it as a fundamental economic and social driver for the province. She highlighted that the CRU competition has become synonymous with ceramics, a tourist attraction, and an opportunity to enhance the region.
Since the competition's inception, 14 projects have been completed, and another three are currently underway, improving streets, squares, and public spaces in numerous municipalities across the province through quality architecture based on the use of ceramics.
