Individuals like Juan Emilio, a resident of Segorbe, have fulfilled their wish to bathe in this natural pool thanks to the new amphibious chairs provided by the municipality. After initial hesitation, he reports enjoying the experience.
The new chairs, along with walkways and adapted crutches, were first used by patients with brain damage from the Alto Palancia-Millares region. The Montanejos Tourism Foundation emphasizes this as "another step towards accessibility and inclusion" for one of the most visited natural sites in inland Castellón.
The thermal waters, recognized with a Blue Flag, also offer therapeutic benefits for many people with reduced mobility. Specialists note that for some users, it means regaining experiences that were previously inaccessible. "Some people tell us they haven't been able to come here for years," says Rubén Pellejero, a neuropsychologist.
The Montanejos Town Council plans to further expand accessibility measures. Future initiatives include "new Braille signage, auditory resources, and full adaptation of the promenade for people with disabilities," explains Octavio de Llago, Councilor for the Environment in Montanejos.
Through this initiative, Montanejos strengthens its accessible tourism offerings and continues to move towards a more inclusive model.
