The Generalitat Valenciana, through the Directorate General of Energy and Mines, has approved the construction of the FV Kenerjona I photovoltaic plant in Castalla, a project representing an investment of 21.5 million euros.

This resolution, dated April 23, is awaiting publication in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat Valenciana and the Official Gazette of the Province of Alicante. The plant will have a capacity of 40.8 MW and includes the approval of the dismantling and land restoration plan for the affected area, as well as the SET Kenerjona 30/132 kV transformer substation.
The material execution budget amounts to 20.5 million euros, with an additional million for dismantling and land restoration. The project will be developed across five plots, with a fenced area of nearly 70 hectares, of which 51 hectares will be occupied by 70,924 modules.
The Kenerjona I photovoltaic plant has a favorable Environmental Impact Statement, based on the presented environmental impact study. During the two public consultations held, a total of 591 allegations were registered, which have been resolved by the administration.
Among the consulted entities are the Castalla City Council, the Júcar Hydrographic Confederation, Red Eléctrica de España SAU, Enagás Transporte SAU, the Directorate General of Urban Infrastructures and Projects, and the directorates general of Culture and Heritage and Natural Environment and Environmental Assessment. Conditions for the project's implementation include the type of fencing, respect for vegetation, prior archaeological excavations and monitoring, and waste management, among other commitments from the promoter.
Furthermore, prior administrative authorization has been granted to the companies Kenermora Solar I SLU and Kenermora Solar II SLU for the common and shared electrical evacuation infrastructure of the FV Kenerjona I (in Castalla) and FV Kenerjona II (in Ibi) photovoltaic plants towards the SET Kenerjona substation. It is worth noting that the projects for both solar plants have been rejected by the city councils of Castalla and Ibi, as well as by environmental groups and various entities.
