Figueroles hosted the neighborhood gathering of the L'Alcalatén-Alto Mijares Commonwealth this Saturday, an event that brought together hundreds of people from the constituent municipalities to enjoy cultural and gastronomic activities.

The celebration began at 10:30 AM with the arrival of buses in the municipality. Once there, attendees were able to participate in a guided tour of Figueroles' points of interest, including its old town, the church, and the Calvary hermitage.
In addition to the tours, several exhibitions were organized for the occasion. Among these, a selection of photos from 1972 stood out, when the municipality received the Conde de Guadalhorce National Award for having its streets and facades adorned with an abundance of flowers and plants.
Participants also viewed an exhibition of photographs on Figueroles' millennial olive trees, another on the importance of water in the old public washhouses, and a display about the Festa del Reservat. A collection of press clippings about local news published in Periódico Mediterráneo over several decades, and an exhibition on pig slaughtering, were also shown.
The day concluded with a monumental paella for all attendees, followed by a guiñote competition and an afternoon party with the group Bendita Rumba, bringing the day of coexistence and celebration to a close.
