The Valencian sneaker company Timpers, founded in 2018, has announced through social media the end of its activity after eight years. "This beautiful adventure that we have created together comes to an end. They have been eight wonderful years, I believe the most beautiful of our lives," expressed the co-founder of the company, Diego Soliveres, in an emotional video.
Soliveres added that, although the project has revolved around Timpers, they have not been able to "take it to another level" or "to the level that Timpers deserves," which is why the project ends here.
Founded in 2018 by Diego Soliveres, Aitor, and Roberto, three young entrepreneurs who met in the blind football team of Alicante, the company was fully integrated by workers with functional diversity. Their production of inclusive footwear was designed with blind people in mind, with special attention to the choice of fabrics, laces, and the insertion of the logo in braille.
Timpers started as a startup in the Lanzadera accelerator and was accredited as a special employment center. One of its most notable achievements was the production of footwear for the Spanish team at the Tokyo 2021 Paralympic Games.
In the farewell video, Soliveres thanked customers for their support, highlighting that they have provided employment to about twenty people with disabilities and have emphasized "ability" over "disability," the brand's core philosophy.
