The Alicante City Council is implementing special traffic measures in the city center this Friday and Saturday for the Pregón (Proclamation) of the Fogueres de Sant Joan and the Ninot parade.

Traffic will experience significant closures in the center of Alicante on Friday and Saturday, coinciding with two of the most important events of the Fogueres de Sant Joan festivities. On Friday, closures will extend from Plaza de España to Plaza del Ayuntamiento between 5:00 PM and 11:00 PM. On Saturday, the affected route will run from Los Luceros to the end of Rambla, passing through Alfonso el Sabio, from 4:00 PM until midnight. Additionally, from 8:00 AM, punctual limitations are expected for chair placement.
The Councilor for Urban Mobility, Carlos de Juan, has advised citizens to plan their journeys in advance, use public parking facilities, and consult the municipal mobility platform and the Alicante se mueve app. He also recommends using the ring roads, such as Gran Vía and Vía Parque, and prioritizing public transport.
Several bus lines will be affected by the closures. On Friday, lines 1, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, and 24 will have diversions. On Saturday, lines 1, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 13, and 24 will modify their routes to travel via Benito Pérez Galdós. The Turibús will avoid the center and run along the coastal front, while lines 5 and 12 will shorten their routes with their terminus at Plaza de Los Luceros.
On Friday, the event Música per a una Festa will cause closures at Plaza de España at 5:00 PM, with diversions via Benito Pérez Galdós and Avenida de Alcoy. Subsequently, between 7:30 PM and 9:00 PM, traffic will be cut along the Pregón route, which will run through San Vicente, Rambla, and Altamira to the Plaza del Ayuntamiento. On Saturday, the Ninot parade will lead to closures from early hours due to chair installation, affecting the route between Los Luceros, Alfonso el Sabio, Rambla, Altamira, and Plaza del Ayuntamiento. The parade will start at 6:00 PM and last until around midnight.
Limitations will also be applied on Avenida Maisonnave, where unloading zones for participants arriving by bus and taxi will be set up, as well as on General Marvá, Federico Soto, Estación, Calderón de la Barca, and Jaime II. Furthermore, on Thursday at 9:00 PM, the festive lighting will be switched on at the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, which will be completely closed to traffic during the event, also affecting Altamira street.
