Only 33% of future university students in Alicante intend to pursue their higher education studies within the province, according to the Unitour 2025-2026 Study.

As the university entrance exams are about to begin, the Unitour 2025-2026 Study, conducted by the consultancy Círculo Formación, confirms that students from Alicante are the most inclined to leave the region. This desire to study elsewhere clashes directly with the trend among their regional neighbors.
While in Valencia an overwhelming 92% of young people will choose to stay in their province or Community, and in Castellón 68% will do so, Alicante's classrooms are emptying, with 37% of students planning to study in another autonomous community and a significant 28% opting to go abroad directly.
