The Generalitat has launched GVA Parcs Naturals, a new mobile application designed to facilitate public access to the protected natural spaces of the Valencian Community, coinciding with the 25th anniversary of the 'xiulet' logo.

The new mobile application GVA Parcs Naturals has been launched by the Generalitat with the aim of bringing the protected natural spaces of the Valencian territory closer to citizens in a simple and accessible way. The presentation coincided with the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the well-known logo of the Valencian natural parks, the 'xiulet'.
The third vice-president and Minister of Environment, Vicente Martínez Mus, highlighted during the presentation in Alicante that the application will allow users to discover and enjoy the natural heritage with updated information directly from their mobile phone. He also recalled the solidity and recognition of the 'xiulet' visual identity over 25 years.
This anniversary arrives in a significant year, as 2026 will mark the 40th anniversary of the declaration of the Parc Natural de l'Albufera, the first in the Valencian Community. The Consell emphasizes that the consolidated network of protected areas represents one of the territory's main environmental assets.
The application, developed by the Directorate General for Information Technologies and Communications, is now available for Android and iOS devices. It includes an interactive map with all the natural parks, detailed information, how to get there, photo galleries, weather forecasts, and the ability to download itineraries in GPX format for offline use. The system is multilingual: Spanish, Valencian, and English.
One of the major new features is the ability to consult and book places for activities such as 'L'Albufera from the inside', an interpretive boat tour, or the 'Medicinal Plants Workshop-Itinerary of the Sierra Calderona'. Activities related to birds and climate change are also included.
The development of GVA Parcs Naturals has been the result of over a year and a half of coordinated work between various directorates general and companies such as Sopra-Steria and Vaersa, the latter responsible for the management of the parks.
The Conselleria has highlighted its 'commitment' to natural parks, with an increase in resources exceeding 17 million euros. Among the planned investments, 175,000 euros are allocated to paths and signage in Tinença de Benifassà, 350,000 euros for the interpretation center of Serra Escalona, and 125,000 euros for water improvements in the Parc Natural del Fondo.
