The strike called by the Railway Union (SF) this Monday, June 29, is causing significant disruptions to the rail service in the Valencian Community, with particular impact in the province of Alicante.

Renfe is cancelling a total of 320 trains across High-Speed, Medium-Distance, and Commuter services on the network. However, 262 High-Speed and Long-Distance trains remain operational, maintaining around 73% of usual mobility in this segment.
In the province of Alicante, minimum services include the operation of several Medium-Distance trains connecting mainly with Murcia and Valencia, as well as services to Alcoy. Departures are scheduled from Alicante Terminal and Murcia del Carmen, along with connections to the Valencian capital. Basic connectivity between the province's interior and the central area of the Valencian Community is ensured via the Alcoy-Xàtiva line.
In the province of Valencia, the strike leads to a 65% reduction in Medium-Distance services, with trains operating between Alicante, Albacete, and the Valencian capital. Commuter services are halved across the network, with 75% reinforcements during peak hours, affecting Valencia and potentially impacting connections to Castellón de la Plana.
The Railway Union maintains the 24-hour strike call concerning the future of Renfe Mercancías, due to disagreement over the creation of a mixed company and the fulfilment of prior agreements with the Ministry of Transport. The strike day coincides with the start of the holiday period, increasing its impact.
Given the situation, Renfe allows passengers to modify or cancel tickets free of charge, or travel on the closest train to their original schedule, according to minimum service conditions.
