The pop-rock group Hombres G is celebrating forty years in music with the documentary Los mejores años de nuestra vida, a production directed by Alicante native Charlie Arnaiz that reviews their career.

The production, which shares its title with the band's commemorative tour, is coming to cinemas to offer a retrospective look at the musical phenomenon of the 80s. The documentary traces the evolution of the Madrid quartet from their stage beginnings in 1984 to their consolidation as a generational icon.
The group's story began with a first concert that, according to the documentary, was a «resounding failure». Despite this start, Hombres G managed to release seven albums and became one of the most followed bands of the era, thanks to their simple pop-rock songs and easily recognizable melodies.
After a separation in the 90s, the group reunited with the arrival of the new millennium and has continued to capitalize on the nostalgic component of their repertoire. The documentary reflects on the band's longevity and its relationship with several generations of fans, highlighting that the key has been to keep alive a repertoire associated with the sentimental memory of much of the public.
Director Charlie Arnaiz, along with Alberto Ortega, had previously worked on music documentaries. With Los mejores años de nuestra vida, they return to the genre to portray a band that, forty years after its debut, continues to fill venues and connect with its audience.
