Two bullfighters from Tomás Rufo's cuadrilla, Fernando Sánchez and Andrés Revuelta, were injured this Saturday at the Alicante bullring during the fourth bullfight of the Hogueras Fair.

Both men were gored by the sixth bull of the event, named Cantaor, in the banderillas section. The bull caused both incidents successively in the Alicante ring.
Fernando Sánchez suffered the first goring during the second pair of banderillas. The bull cut short its charge and anticipated the movement of the bullfighter, who was caught and tossed. This new injury was very similar to one sustained on May 23rd in Bocairent, as the wound from the previous goring reportedly reopened.
Subsequently, Andrés Revuelta was injured during the next pair of banderillas. As he attempted to jump into the alley to safety, the bull Cantaor pressed him hard against the barriers, leaving him no room to complete the jump.
According to the initial report from the Alicante bullring's infirmary, Revuelta has a bruised meniscus and a possible knee and ankle sprain, pending further medical tests.
Both incidents caused concern among professionals and the attending public, as the bull Cantaor significantly impacted the final part of the event by incapacitating two members of Tomás Rufo's cuadrilla.
